DETAILS

The Leadership Development Workshop empowers revitalization professionals with tools and strategies to connect, motivate, and lead people effectively over an intensive two-day experience. Learn more about this workshop by checking out the sections below.

About

The workshop’s focus on emotional and conversational intelligence enriches participants’ knowledge base, strengthens their personal and interpersonal skills, and elevates their position as successful revitalization leaders. Whether navigating board conflicts or creating accountability with volunteers, participants will walk away with action plans to elevate their leadership approach. Additional networking activities provides participants with ample opportunities to build a strong and supporting network with other revitalization professionals from across the country.

Registration, Rates & Availability

Rates: 

  • Early Bird (by March 11): $395 Member | $545 Non-Member
  • Regular (by April 26): $450 Member | $600 Non-Member

Registration: Registration is open through April 26, or until capacity is reached. Secure your seat through MSAI’s course catalog site or as an add-on item for the 2024 Main Street Now Conference registration.

Availability: Space is limited, and seats are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure a smooth reservation process and workshop experience, early registration is highly recommended. A waitlist will be available.

Member Discounts & Education Credit

Member Discounts: Main Street America members are eligible to receive a discount on this workshop. Learn more about member discounts through our online course catalogue here. When adding this workshop on the 2024 Main Street Now Conference registration site, member discounts are automatically applied.

Credit: AICP members can earn Certification Maintenance (CM) credits for this activity. More information about AICP’s CM program can be found here >

Main Street America Institute participants may receive credit for this activity. MSAI is currently undergoing an intensive program assessment to ensure our curriculum meets the needs of our network and provides content that is reflective of everyone we serve. Therefore, our required coursework and credential offerings are evolving. Please take note of the following: 

  • Current Participants: Those already in progress toward their Leadership Development Certificate and/​or MSARP Credential may receive credit for this course toward the completion of their certification journey, depending on their current status. Please contact us at msai@​mainstreet.​org for more information. 
  • New Participants: The 2024 Leadership Development Workshop will not count toward the existing Leadership Development Certificate and/​or MSARP Credential for new participants looking to begin their journey toward certification. However, participants will gain invaluable skills crucial to leading revitalization efforts.
Instructor, Learning Objectives & Agenda

Instructor: Patricia Clason is a speaker, trainer, coach, and author. Through alternative methods of teaching and learning, Patricia couples psychological perspectives with practical tools for leaders in the areas of communication, time management, motivation, and business management. Learning Objectives: 

  • Develop and define a leadership style that is congruent with your core values
  • Learn to navigate difficult and challenging conversations and situations common in leadership roles
  • Walk away with action plans to elevate your leadership approach and a national network of colleagues to continue growling alongside

Agenda: The agenda includes breaks throughout both days and an early end time on the second day to provide participants also registered for the 2024 Main Street Now Conference to attend Sunday afternoon trainings, workshops, and activities. Preview the agenda here >

Who Should Participate

This workshop is ideal for revitalization professionals and leaders in management positions at the local, city-wide, or state level in organizations engaged in the fields of community revitalization and development.

Policies

Health, Safety & Participation: We are pleased to offer this in-person workshop in accordance with the 2024 Main Street Now Conference Policies.

Cancellations & Refunds: Cancellations communicated more than 14 days in advance of the course’s start date will be refunded in full. Cancellations occurring less than 14 days in advance of the course’s start date will be offered a 50% refund. There is a $25.00 processing fee for any cancelled registration. Once the course has begun, refunds cannot be issued.
