We asked our members to share the unique features that bring the romance to their Main Streets - and they delivered! In celebration of Valentine's Day, here are five Main Street destinations submitted to us from across the network. From the confluence of the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers in Paducah, Kentucky, to the tasty cakes and sweet treats of Kendallville, Indiana, these Main Streets are the perfect places to show your love for all things local. 

Georgetown, TX

Palace Theatre.

As the sun sets, the lights twinkle to life on the Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas. Nationally recognized as a Great American Main Street City, Georgetown beckons to all who desire the warm and fuzzy feelings brought on by sharing fun with the ones we love.

Be sure to enjoy a romantic dinner and then stroll to the Palace Theatre to enjoy a live show – it’s the perfect date night. Located just 30 minutes north of Austin, Downtown Georgetown offers a respite from the bustling city by blending Texan hospitality with romantic charm for a weekend-ready getaway. Bring your heart to Georgetown!

Kendallville, IN

Kendallville, IN offers a full itinerary of romantic activities. First, couples can pick up a sweet treat from the local bakery and coffee shop, WhatchamaCAKES. The owner, Lisa, has a knack for making beautiful and unique wedding cakes, as well as a variety of baked goods that are sure to set your romantic evening off to a great start.

Next, you can enjoy some pampering with your partner. With three different massage and spa locations – each offering their own unique services – visitors are sure to leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

With several playful murals and art installations, historic window cling s, and a gallery in town, couples can explore the local arts scene while learning about Kendallville’s rich history. To top it all off, you can take in a show at the Strand Theatre, one of the longest running theaters in the country. This family-friendly venue is the perfect stop after a romantic dinner at one of the downtown restaurants.

Grayling, MI

Grayling has something for every type of couple. Looking for an artsy evening? Stroll through the AuSable Artisan Village to pick up some beautiful creations and then head across the street to peruse the Main Branch Gallery. 

Is shopping the key to your heart? Kick of your morning with breakfast at the Grayling Restaurant before making your way through Grayling’s myriad of unique small businesses. Finish your adventure at The Old Lumberyard, home to dozens of merchant booths selling antiques, décor, apparel, and more. 

Want to show your love for all things Michigan? Settle in for a delicious brunch at Michigan Brew, where everything is Michigan-made and -sourced. Pop into Tip’n the Mitten to explore an amazing variety of local gifts. Finally, grab a table at Rays BBQ, Brews, and Blues for a stunning view of the AuSable River. 

Paducah, KY

Located at the heart of the Tennessee and Ohio Rivers, this quaint city is a river lover’s dream. From the riverfront trail to the transient guest boat dock, romance-seekers have plenty of opportunities for waterfront dates.

The downtown is a bustling art center and a features numerous romantic dinner spots. Couples can grab a show at a local theater or explore the downtown shops before checking into one of the numerous unique rentals or boutique hotels. Paducah provides a serene backdrop for community members and visitors alike to enjoy a perfect Valentine’s Day.

Starkville, MS

Starkville's vibrant and thriving downtown is home to a family-owned jewelry shop of more than 75 years, beautiful gift and floral boutiques who always go the extra mile for Valentine's Day, as well as a bridal boutique located in a historic Victorian home just steps from Main Street. 

Nestled in the heart of town, Lafayette Street's bright lights are the most picture-perfect proposal destination in Northeast Mississippi. Its the perfect place for a date night or romantic weekend where you can enjoy world-class and farm to table dining experiences and a relaxing night at the Historic Hotel Chester. It's easy to fall in love in Starkville!
